Key Advantages of PU Roof Sandwich Panels
1.Excellent Thermal Insulation
The polyurethane core provides strong thermal insulation performance, helping reduce heat transfer through the roof system and improve indoor temperature stability.
2.Durable Roof Enclosure System
The color-coated steel sheets provide strength, weather resistance, and a clean roof appearance for steel warehouses, workshops, and industrial buildings.
3.Lightweight and Easy to Install
PU roof sandwich panels are lightweight and prefabricated, making transportation, lifting, and on-site installation faster and more efficient.
4.Good Waterproof Roofing Design
The profiled roof surface, overlap joint, screws, flashing, and sealing accessories help form a practical roofing system with good drainage and weather protection.
5.Custom Thickness, Length, and Color
Panel thickness, length, surface color, steel sheet thickness, and roof profile can be customized to match your building design and project budget.
Where Can PU Roof Sandwich Panels Be Used?
PU sandwich roof panels are suitable for many steel building and industrial roofing applications, including:
- Steel warehouse roofing
- Steel workshop roofing
- Industrial building roofs
- Commercial steel building roofs
- Cold storage roof systems
- Food processing building roofs
- Logistics warehouse roofing
- Prefabricated steel building roofs
- Temperature-controlled storage buildings
- Factory and production facility roofing
PU roof sandwich panels provide an excellent choice of roofing material for fast installation of roofs with good thermal insulating properties as well as mechanically sound roofs.
PU Roof Panel Structure
A PU roof sandwich panel usually consists of:
- Upper color-coated steel sheet
- Polyurethane insulation core
- Lower color-coated steel sheet
- Profiled roof surface for drainage
- Overlap joint for roof installation
- Matching accessories such as screws, ridge caps, flashing, and sealant
This design mixes strong metal sheets with insulation made from polyurethane. It works well for roofs that need insulation in steel buildings.
Why Choose PU Roof Sandwich Panels?
Polyurethane (PU)-roof sandwich panels are ideal for use in steel construction applications where the building must be constructed of a material that provides good insulation and is resistant to the elements. These types of panels improve the comfort level inside the building and reduce heat transfer between the roof and inside the building and thereby contribute to maintaining stable building operations.
The design of prefabricated panels allows for decreasing the amount of time needed for on-site construction. If manufacturers choose the right roof profile, accessories, and installation details, they can produce an effective roofing system using PU sandwich panels for warehouses, workshops, cold storage facilities, logistic facilities and industrial applications.

Sandwich Panel Production Process
Our sandwich panel production process is carefully controlled to ensure accurate dimensions, strong bonding, and consistent panel quality.

Steel Coil Uncoiling
Color-coated steel coils are loaded onto the uncoiling machine, leveled, and continuously fed into the production line. Protective film may also be applied to reduce scratches and surface damage.

Steel Sheet Roll Forming
The upper and lower steel sheets pass through roll-forming equipment to create the required panel profile, surface pattern, and edge shape.

Core Material Feeding
Rock wool or other insulation core materials are transported into the production line according to the required panel thickness and specification. The core is positioned carefully to maintain consistent panel structure.

Adhesive Application & Edge Sealing
Adhesive is applied evenly between the metal sheets and insulation core to create a stable bond. Panel edges may also be formed or sealed according to the selected joint design.

Double-Belt Pressing & Automatic Cutting
The metal sheets and core material pass through the double-belt pressing system, where they are continuously bonded and formed. The finished panels are then automatically cut to the required project length.

Finished Panel Stacking & Packaging
The completed panels are inspected, stacked, labeled, and packed with protective materials. Proper packaging helps protect panel surfaces and edges during storage, container loading, and delivery.

FAQ About PU Roof Sandwich Panel
What is the difference between PU roof panels and rock wool roof panels?
A: There is a huge difference between these two in terms of thermal insulation. The PU sandwich roof panel has a thermal conductivity of 0.024 W/(m.K),which is lower than the 0.040 W/(m.K) of the rock wool panel, so it is much more energy efficient. Also, the PU panel is lightweight and fully waterproof; therefore, PU panels are perfect for cold storage applications.
What thickness of PU roof sandwich panel should I choose?
A: The thickness you should use is determined by your temperature control requirements. In general warehouse applications, a thickness of 50 – 75 mm will be suitable. For cold storage applications, we recommend that you use a 100 mm Polyurethane (PU) roof insulation sandwich panel for temperatures greater than 0°C and 150 mm – 200 mm thick panels for temperatures below 0°C.
Can you customize the size and color of the panels?
A: Yes, we offer full customization services. We can customize the panel length, thickness, face sheet color and material according to your specific project requirements.
How long does it take to install PU roof sandwich panels?
A: A competent crew can put a standard 5,000 m² warehouse roof on in 7 to 10 days. Our polyurethane roof sandwich panels are prefabricated (and thus ready to go) and they will save you 3 to 4 times the time it takes to put up a standard roofing system. We can also provide you with complete installation instructions and technical support on site if you require it.
